Waxwings

After many days scouring the local countryside for the countless reports of waxwings back in November and earlier this month, I was thrilled to catch a glimpse of a few and even managed a few pictures.

Unusual patient!

Well it has been extremely cold, and the wild birds are obviously keen to take shelter and warmth where-ever they can. So how about this. One of my friends, who works for the Ambulance Service, found a Goldcrest in the back of his vehicle! Thanks to PMK for the pictures.

Winter Wonderland

Yes, we have just enjoyed (or not!) a few days of harsh wintery weather, so I'll start with a few local scenes taken a few days ago.

Wild Pics Start

Having been a very amateur photographer for some years, I though it might be a good idea to start publishing a few of my pictures for all to see.

You will probably gather that the majority of my pictures are of wildlife (and in particular birds) but if the opportunity arises, perhaps I'll be brave enough to add some landscapes!

As time progresses (and new photos are safely in the camera!) I'll endeavour to keep the blog up to date, but as ever, my time may be required elsewhere.

Take a look and see what you think.
